Dr. Deanna Berman, ND, LM is a women’s health expert, helping women around the world recover from chronic health issues. After experiencing her own health issues, including Interstitial Cystitis, Dr. Berman became interested in developing an fully integrative and functional natural approach to women's health issues. She studied traditional medical science at Bastyr Univeristy's medical school, then received in depth training in clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, and a wide range of alternative therapies, including naturopathic manipulation, massage, cranio-sacral therapy, Chinese medicine, homeopathy, and more. Additionally, she is a certified midwife who has assisted and managed over one-hundred births. She is also trained in lab analysis, which allows her to study her patients' medical records in order to get a more complete view of their overall health. Dr. Berman is licensed by both the states of Washington and Vermont to practice Naturopathic Medicine.
When working with patients,Dr. Berman uses the principles of naturopathic medicine, including, the healing power of nature to identify and treat the cause of an issue, to heal the whole person with the utmost priority given to causing no harm.
Dr. Berman believes that one of her many duties as a doctor is also to be a teacher, to help her patients learn how to live healthier to prevent further issues. Patients often comment how they love Dr. Berman's educational approach to health care and how she empowers them to make natural choices whenever possible.
With her unique background and extensive experience, Dr. Berman is uniquely qualified and knowledgeable in understand drug-herb, and drug-nutrient interaction, as well as the complexities of womens' hormonal and endocrine issues. Dr Berman understands both the necessity for medication and the limitations of natural medicine. She has found that the body has an amazing capacity for healing and recovery when the obstacles to healing are removed and when the body is given what it needs to naturally recover. After years of working with patients with chronic health issues, including chronic lyme disease and various autoimmune diseases, Dr. Berman focused her practice on helping women with Chronic and Recurrent UTIs and Interstitial Cystitis.
